What does “IPC” mean?

IPC stands for the Indian Pentecostal Church of God — a Pentecostal denomination founded in Kerala, India in 1924, which now has congregations across India, the Gulf, Europe, and North America. IPC Tabernacle Dallas is its church here in Dallas, and has been since a handful of families first met in August 1998.

We are Pentecostal in the historic sense: we hold that the Bible is the inspired and authoritative word of God, that salvation comes through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and that the Holy Spirit fills believers who ask, as described in Acts 2:4. Three languages, one congregation

Most of our members trace their roots to Kerala, and Malayalam remains the heart language of the congregation. But a church that has been here since 1998 now spans three generations, so we worship in Malayalam, English and Hindi — with a full English worship service every Sunday, English Sunday School running in parallel with the Malayalam Bible study, and separate worship teams for each language.

That is a practical commitment rather than a slogan: it is what lets a grandparent who prays in Malayalam and a grandchild who thinks in English belong to the same church. Visitors from any background are welcome at any of our services.

Beyond Dallas

We are involved with charities across the DFW metroplex, and we sponsor and govern nearly a dozen mission fields in Kerala, India — supporting mission stations, medical camps, and local evangelists. Our members give to that work directly, and it has been part of the church’s purpose since its founding.

Common questions from first-time visitors

Do I need to speak Malayalam to attend?

No. We are a bilingual congregation and hold a full English worship service every Sunday at 10:45 AM, alongside our Malayalam services. Sunday School is taught in English, and our Hindi worship team leads regularly. Come as you are — you will not be lost.

What time are your Sunday services?

Sunday School and Malayalam Bible Study both begin at 9:00 AM and run in parallel, followed by the English Worship Service at 10:45 AM. The main service runs 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We also meet for prayer on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

What is a Pentecostal service like if I have never been to one?

Expect sung worship, prayer, and a sermon from the Bible. Pentecostal worship is participatory — people may raise their hands, pray aloud, or respond during the service. Nothing is expected of you as a visitor; you are welcome simply to sit and take it in.

Where are you, and where do I park?

We are at 9121 Ferguson Road in East Dallas, TX 75228. Parking is free in our own lot, and there is no charge or collection expected of visitors.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code. You will see everything from traditional Indian dress to jeans. Wear what you are comfortable in.

Do you have anything for children and young people?

Yes. Sunday School runs for pre-kindergarten through 16th grade — pre-school age up to and including college students — and we have a Children’s Ministry, a Youth & Young Adults ministry with its own pastor, and regular youth gatherings.

I am not Malayalee or Indian. Am I still welcome?

Yes, genuinely. We are a multicultural congregation that worships in three languages, and visitors of every background are welcome at any service.
